Our movies (David's anyway. I'm expecting mine to arrive around Tuesday) finally came in. Cool. Man, Undergrads rules. Current Mood: bouncyCurrent Music: Undergrads, episode 2 | | Saturday, June 6th, 2009 | | 11:02 pm |
I just found out that my uncle has Liver Cancer. Fuck. I mean, he's doing okay so far, and he's had treatments, so that's a good sign, right? But, still... Fuck. Current Mood: worriedCurrent Music: 'American Witch (Live)' by Rob Zombie | | Monday, June 1st, 2009 | | 1:21 am |
Thanks to David, I now have an appreciation for Undergrads. Too bad it didn't last longer than one season. | | Sunday, May 24th, 2009 | | 10:20 pm |
From my Twitter page, cause I'm too lazy to re-type all these. Thank god for copy and paste. got hit on at work by this waiter from Max and Erma's. Guy was good eye candy, but I wasn't interested. still wonders what caused that big honkin' fire near Medco earlier today. has got some new ideas for another slasher script. Time for an outline! also has an idea for a short script involving a evil obsessive warlord VS. his wayward adopted son and a resistance group of marines. has started on my outline, and there's already a title/characters/plot for it. The auditions for the most part seem to have gone decent. Now I'm just hoping for callbacks. :) Current Mood: hopefulCurrent Music: 'Puppet' by Thousand Foot Krutch | | Thursday, May 14th, 2009 | | 2:07 pm |
Well, this is a good month for acting. Making edits on the script for that slasher film, and I have at least 2 auditions to go do this month. Hope I get the role(s). God, I love acting. :D Current Mood: bouncyCurrent Music: Naruto Abridged Episode 4 on YouTube | | Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 | | 1:37 pm |
Saw Star Trek last weekend. Best. Movie. Ever. And, yes, that's my impression of the Comic Book Guy. :P What happened afterwards really sucks. For the deer that had already been hit once and was dragging itself across the freeway by its' front legs. If it hadn't been on a curved road, at 1:00 in the morning, we would've seen it and put on the brakes a LOT FASTER. Unfortunately, it was, and we didn't and couldn't. The only thing it could move after that was its' head/neck. Otherwise, the deer could only lie there. And moving it was not an option, for a variety of reasons. One of which being that it was still a busy freeway. Damn. I hope it didn't have to suffer long. Current Mood: blahCurrent Music: 'Coal' by Mudvayne | | Saturday, May 9th, 2009 | | 2:38 am |
Had to spend $425 on David's car yesterday. The damn exhaust was too damn low and dragging along the road. My bank account will cry... Current Mood: blah | | Monday, April 27th, 2009 | | 10:22 pm |
Took some driving lessons today. Almost embarrassed to admit that, being 26, but, hey, it's always better late then never, am I right? Anyway, David said I did OK, which means I need some improvement when I'm behind the wheel, but I'm confident that I'll get better over time. In other news, I've now jumped on the Twitter bandwagon. http://twitter.com/KingCobra582 Current Mood: calm | | Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 | | 11:48 am |
So my grandfather's doing okay. He went to the doctor and he's doing fine. What a relief. Whew. Current Mood: relieved | | Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 | | 10:12 am |
So, my grandfather (who lives in Michigan) needs to go to the hospital. He's been having breathing problems. Hopefully he'll be okay. Current Mood: worriedCurrent Music: 'some assembly required' by mudvayne | | Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 | | 3:05 pm |
Went to an audition today. Did pretty well. Now I just need to wait and see if I get any callbacks. Current Mood: optimisticCurrent Music: 'This Calling' by All That Remains | | Friday, March 27th, 2009 | | 11:11 am |
Acting Chops... Get Chopped.
It's tough sometimes. Living in Ohio and still trying to be an actor. Sure, I've done a few indie films for local groups, and, yes, none of them paid. Thing is, that acting experience, meager as they were, has left me with a craving for more. And having not found anything in nearly a year, well... If only I had money... would it be so bad to spend some time in, say, L.A. or New York for a year or two? Attempt to quench this proverbial thirst? Do some LEGITIMATE acting? Maybe add some satisfying entries to my resume? I don't think that would be a bad idea. Not at all. In fact, I think I could even make it in L.A. or New York. Though some may call it idealistic, and perhaps it is, but I still feel I could have it good in the Hollywood circuit. But, then, that's why things like that are called dreams. And dreams like that don't come true for average, middle-class, working American guys like yours truly. *sighs* Current Mood: depressedCurrent Music: 'My World' by SR-71 | | Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 | | 4:46 pm |
REVIEW - Watchmen (2009). Best. Damn. Movie. Of. The. Year. Great story, great characters, plot, etc. All tied up in one neat little gift of cinematic heaven. And Rorshack kicked so much ass. He was the character I spent the whole movie rooting for. I can easily see 'Watchmen' becoming a classic. Perfect 10/10. Current Mood: bouncy | | Sunday, March 8th, 2009 | | 12:59 pm |
REVIEW - Get Smart (2008). Definitely one to be added to anyone's Blu Ray library, and one I am glad to have in mine. Steve Carrell gives a convincing, oscar-worthy show. Definitely one of the highlights of his career. Great story, and fastly paced. I was never bored. Definitely delivers on the action front (all about that train scene at the end) and is an all-around good movie. Not to mention appearances by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Masi Oka, and Patrick Warburton. It's a smorgasboard of star cameos. 10/10. Current Mood: chipper | | Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 | | 1:54 pm |
Tried posting an old "Gargoyles" fic up at Y-Gallery. Unfortunately, the image that I'd used as the link to the fic was primo in getting the story yanked. I can re-post it, but I need a piece of fan art (with permission from the artist, of course) to do that. Can anyone help? Credit and a link to your website will of course be provided. So, I had my eye exam earlier. I now have to wear glasses the rest of my life on account of my damn right eye. Current Mood: blah | | Saturday, February 14th, 2009 | | 10:13 am |
Review - FRIDAY THE 13TH (2009). If you see any movie this weekend, make this the one. Has a lot of good kills, but doesn't have enough gore. Good for you squeamish. Acting is decent enough for a genre film, and it's an interesting reboot (mild reboot) on previous material. Full of homages to the first four films. Considering that it's already up to $20 million (or higher?) in gross, is it any wonder as to its' quality and entertainment level? 10/10. Current Music: 'Wake Up' by Race Against The Machine | | Friday, February 13th, 2009 | | 11:44 am |
Thanks to the bad T-storm the other night, the Motel 6 on Morse RD. where David and I had our first date about 4 years ago is now destroyed. The second level of one of the buildings is charred and blackened. Just absolute annihilation. Got an appointment set for an exam next Wednesday @ 2 PM at Bloomberg's Eye Center. Ironically, I think it's on the same street as the Motel 6. Planning to go see the new Friday The 13th tonight. And that's all for now. Gotta go. Errands. Current Mood: busy |
